this past weekend, I helped my good friend Ashley Felkel with a couple of weddings…….She has actually been doing me the great favor of helping me to get myself ready to document my niece’s large wedding this fall. Here are just a few glimpses of all that the weekend included. So many great people and wonderfully fun images! Thanks again, Ashley!
green was the accent color…..and green was everywhere, as my dear beautiful graphic designer friend wed her love amidst the tender new tree leaves at the Sourwood Inn. this is a woman with such lightness of spirit and a way of seeing things unlike many I have met before….in joel she has truly found her soulmate. when i had the good fortune to photograph their engagement portraits last fall, it was more fun than i had ever had at a session. these two are just so easy to be around, and their love for one another just gives you goosebumps. it isn’t mushy or gushy, it is just such a sincere respect for each other….symbiotic, where each of them benefits by having the other in their lives, yet still exists strongly in their own right. someone in attendance must also have some very powerful ties with mother nature, as, about one hour before the scheduled start of the outdoor ceremony, there came such a deluge of rain and wind, i could not imagine how it could possibly clear in time. clear it did, and even wonderful rays of sunlight emerged to bounce off of the bubbles friends and family blew as the newlyweds departed the ceremony.

let me start this post by saying, i don’t do weddings…..not to say that i might not ever do them…..but i currently don’t. however, this is the third time i have had the opportunity to tag along with another photographer as a ‘second’ shooter, and given the location, at the sanctuary on kiawah island, i could not resist now that is my cup of tea! i get to be creative, and get unusual angles, become buddies with the flower girls (they were soooo sweet, and i miss having little girls!). no pressure. watching the guy in charge, charles bordner was a treat in and of itself. if you need wedding coverage, he is a great one to call. he is thorough, and unobtrusive and just there to document your day. thank you again, charles, for allowing me to tag along. and thank you also to jill and stirling for letting me be a teeny tiny part of your beautiful day. here were just a few of my favorites.

I had the wonderful opportunity several weeks ago to witness one of the most amazing marital ceremonies I have ever seen. the love these two have for each other is so incredibly apparent…..you couldn’t help but find yourself walking around with a huge grin on your face due to the overwhelming amount of love that flowed across that beautiful field…..here are a few of my favorites

and of course, what better thing to have at a wedding than bubbles and marble slab ice cream! it was a perfect mid afternoon celebration…one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of attending….
